CANSES Working Groups
Working Groups (WGs) are one of the primary ways CANSES brings members together to connect, collaborate, and share ideas. They provide opportunities for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community partners with shared interests to identify priorities, discuss challenges, and develop strategies collectively. While all WGs support the broader mission of CANSES, each one operates independently and reflects the unique focus of its members.

Early Career Professionals

The ECP WG brings together members who are graduate students or have recently begun their professional careers to explore and discuss relevant issues related to conducting research on violent extremism, including, for example, methods, ethical considerations, and how to think about and protect researcher safety.
Nihilistic Violent Extremism

Nihilistic violent extremism (NVE) is rapidly becoming a prominent concern in the P/CVE landscape. The emerging threat posed by NVE is multifaceted and addressing it will require the input and involvement of individuals from a broad range of disciplines, including areas that have not traditionally been associated with violent extremism, such as child sexual exploitation and child trafficking, self-harm, emergency medicine, and veterinary sciences.
